Terms of Use
Plain terms for a site that sells nothing. The important one is the first: this is information, not veterinary care.
Last updated 19 September 2026. By using tailandtonic.co you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the site.
This is information, not veterinary advice
Tail & Tonic is an independent educational resource. Everything here is general information about the physical and mental health of cats and dogs. It is not veterinary advice, not a diagnosis, and not a treatment plan, and reading it does not create a veterinarian–client–patient relationship.
Your veterinarian knows your animal; we don't. Always consult them before changing your pet's diet, supplements, medication, or care — and if your pet is unwell or in distress, contact a veterinarian immediately rather than reading a website.
How we talk about products
We take no money from manufacturers — no sponsorships, no affiliate commissions, no paid placement. When we name a product, we separate two things and we ask you to read them that way:
- The science is ours and is attributed to published research. It describes what studies associate with an ingredient, in general terms.
- The efficacy claim is the manufacturer's, not ours. When we write that a product "claims to help" with something, we are stating the true fact that they claim it. We are not asserting that it works.
- Our judgment about which products are worth your money is opinion and curation, offered in good faith on the evidence available to us at the time of writing.
Statements on this site have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration, and nothing here is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease.
Accuracy and changes
We work hard to be accurate and to source what we publish, but science moves and products change. We make no guarantee that everything here is current or free of error, and we may correct, update, or remove anything at any time without notice.
The newsletter
Subscribing is free and voluntary. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. We may stop, pause, or change the newsletter, and we may remove a subscriber who abuses the service. How we handle your address is set out in our Privacy Policy.
Our content
The articles, videos, images, and design on this site belong to Tail & Tonic and are protected by copyright. You are welcome to read, share links, and quote us briefly with attribution and a link back. You may not republish our work wholesale, scrape it in bulk, or present it as your own.
Acceptable use
Please don't attempt to break, overload, or gain unauthorised access to the site or the systems behind it, and don't use it for anything unlawful.
Links to other sites
We sometimes link to studies, veterinary organisations, retailers, and other outside pages for your convenience. We don't control them, we earn nothing from them, and we're not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.
Disclaimer and limitation of liability
This site is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tail & Tonic and its contributors are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, anything published here — including decisions made about your pet's care. Decisions about an animal's health belong with you and your veterinarian.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows when they last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
