About Us
TAIL & TONIC
We Love Our Pets
Too Much to Settle.
Tail & Tonic was built by pet owners who got tired of asking “but is this actually good for them?” — and never getting a satisfying answer.
Where It Starts
It starts the same way for most of us. You’re standing in a pet store aisle — or scrolling through page after page online — holding a bottle of something that promises to support your dog’s joints, calm your cat’s anxiety, or give your aging companion a little more quality in their days.
You flip it over. You read the label. And somewhere between the third filler ingredient and the fourth vague marketing claim, a quiet, uncomfortable thought surfaces:
“I’m not sure I trust what’s actually in this.”
We’ve all been there. And for a long time, most of us made peace with it — because the alternative felt overwhelming. The research. The ingredient deep-dives. The back-and-forth between brands that all looked credible enough on the outside.
We didn’t make peace with it.
We made Tail & Tonic instead.
Who We Are
We are a team of pet owners — dog people, cat people, and proudly opinionated about both. Between us, we bring backgrounds in health and nutrition, product research, and years of hard-earned experience navigating an industry that has not always prioritized the animals it claims to serve.
We don’t have a single founder story or a single face to put on this brand. What we have is something we think matters more: a shared conviction, a common standard, and a willingness to walk away from any product that doesn’t meet it.
That conviction is simple. The pets in our lives deserve the same rigor we’d apply to our own health decisions. Informed. Intentional. Uncompromising.
“When we couldn’t find a brand we trusted completely, we decided to build one.”
The Standard We Hold
Every product in the Tail & Tonic lineup starts with one question:
“Would we give this to our own pets?”
Not: “Is this acceptable?” Not: “Does this technically meet the minimum bar?” Would we, knowing everything we know, choose this for the animals we are personally responsible for?
If the answer is anything less than an unambiguous yes — it doesn’t make it to our store.
We research formulas. We scrutinize sourcing. We look at what the science actually says, not what a marketing team has chosen to highlight. We ask about ingredient quality, concentration, and whether the delivery form actually allows absorption. We look at what’s in the product and, just as importantly, what isn’t.
This process is not fast. It is not always convenient. But it is the only way we know how to do this honestly.
For Every Pet. Every Stage.
Tail & Tonic is for the dog owner who notices their senior companion slowing down on walks and wants to do something real about it. It’s for the cat owner whose indoor tabby has started showing signs of joint stiffness and doesn’t know where to start. It’s for the first-time pet parent trying to do things right from day one.
It’s for anyone who has ever looked at their pet — curled at the foot of the bed, waiting at the door, doing that thing they do that makes you laugh without fail — and thought:
“I want more time with you. And I want that time to be good.”
Our current catalog is built around daily wellness and supplemental support — the kind of consistent, compounding care that adds up over months and years into a healthier, more comfortable life. We carry products for dogs and cats, across all life stages, because good health isn’t a single product. It’s a practice.
Our Promise to You
We will never list a product we haven’t thoroughly researched.
We will never prioritize margin over formula quality.
We will always tell you what’s in what we sell — and why it’s there.
That’s not a positioning statement. It’s the reason this company exists. Because the gap between what too many pet supplements claim and what they actually contain was too large to ignore.
Where a Healthy Pet is a Happy Pet.
